2nd April, 2009

Today's weather;

It's partly clouded this morning with plenty of blue patches. Current temp at 7am is 27.2C.

Yesterday was a mixed bag, hard and heavy rain early in the morning followed by sunshine and when I went to Chaweng shortly before 10 am, it started to poor down again, heavily! The picture below tells it all, coconut tree leaves that tumbled down, coconuts crashing down etc. A serious mini storm was raging for maybe half an hour. After that it cleared up once more and remained sunny for the rest of the day, with some overcast.
Max temp reached 30.8C.

What a stunning sunrise on Samui this morning Camille. The clouds really bring out the colours.
Just looking at the webcam now and looks like another bout of rain is on the way.
We desperately need some tropical rain here in Melbourne.
Hope Songkran is great!
Cheers.

Hi Narelle,

It looks very different indeed today compared to yesterday, looks like a nice day is brewing up.

Camille, good report , and what a storm you had , I guess the rainy season is here as we are starting to get rain and wind already in Whang Pho ,Kanchanaburi. We always need it for the farmers here , I only hope we don't have the really heavy winds like we did 2 years ago , it knocked all the mangos off the trees and we had none on our trees , this year they are loaded and just starting to ripen , they are my favorite . Hope you and your's are as "snug as a bug in a rug" as they say way down south in the Carolinas in the USA . Malcolm

Hi Malcolm,

It was storm indeed, but a short one and rather unusual for Koh Samui this time of the year!

Our garden is also 'ripening' up, mango's, Guava's and various other fruits are hanging heavy in the trees!

We're pretty snug at the moment! Thanks!!
