14th January, 2009

Today's weather;

It's cloudy and there's a strong wind. The wind will subside over the weekend though. Current temp at 7 am is 25.2C.

Yesterday saw cloud cover pretty much all day in Surat Thani and Samui. Max temp reached 28.4C and there were traces of rain. We had some rain when we left Surat Thani yesterday.

HI Camille,

I am planning to come to Samui next week. What is the weather like ? Should I come if my main purpose is to hang out by the beach ?

Dear Camille,

Thanks for your very assuring email....I now feel better about booking my holiday to come to Samui. This is because when I looked at weather related websites earlier, they all seem to say that there will be scattered rains next week....

Anyway, thanks for your kind advise which I will follow. I hope to meet you sometime there. I am coming with my wife and we are from Malaysia.

Cheers,
David

Hi There,

We are considering Koh samui as a honeymoon destinationfor the first two weeks in December 09. We will be travelling from Ireland and with all the expense of the wedding we won't get to the sun at all this year so hope to get some on Honeymoon. Can you give me information on best areas of thailand this time of year to visit. And Is Koh Samui a good island to visit at that time of year.

Thanks a million for your time
Tracey

Hi Tracey,

Thanks for your mail.

Samui is a great destination but unfortunately not during November or early December since a yearly monsoon or rainy season prevails than usually. Although there's the odd chance of good weather, I wouldn't bet on it.

The Andaman side, Phuket, Krabi etc have a better chance of good weather in that period.

Good luck with planning your holidays.
