Hello there! My boyfriend and I will be arriving in Koh Samui on the 26th November. It's our first visit to Thailand. The weather looks very rainy and full of thunderstorms! Is this typical weather for this time of year? Kind regards Jan

Hi Jan,

Unfortunately it's typical weather for the Gulf of Thaialnd this time of the year. Usually the Andaman coast is a lot nicer now.

However, the more you get towards December, the better it tends to become.

Hope you enjoy your stay.

Hi Jan,

There are direct flights to Phuket from Samui or you can take a bus to Phuket. From there you can easily reach all other destinations mentioned.

Hi Camille

Me again! We have a problem with our hotel. Supposed to be staying at the Anantara hotel, just found out they are renovating their pool and it won't be open till end of Feb 09! Have flights booked but need to find a hotel.
Any recommendations? Nice beach, accommodation.

Thanks in advance for your help. Has the sun shown its face?

Kind regards

Jan

Hi Jan,

Have a look at my Samui hotel recommendation blog plenty of good hotels listed. The Bophud and Maenam area will have the best beach during your stay here.

Hi Camille

Hope you are well! My boyfriend and I are looking forward to arriving in Koh Samui on Wed 26th Nov. But having looked at the weather forecast, it looks like it will rain for the whole 10 days we are there. Have we made a big mistake booking Samui for this time of the year? I can't cancel as we will lose all our money! Any suggestions?

Kind regards

Jan

Hi Jan,

Most certainly hope that it's not a mistake and it doesn't have to be. There are plenty of things to do in Samui, also indoors!

The prediction I'm looking at, Windguru, shows actually a lot drier weather, more and stronger wind but less rain, starting the 26th!

Hi Camille

I'm sure it's not a mistake! The weather does make a difference and sunshine would be nice after our awful summer!!

Thanks for all your help and patience!!
